The 35th America's Cup - the biggest sailing event in the world and the oldest sports trophy in history - is coming to Bermuda in 2017! And when the Auld Mug arrived in Bermuda on December 3, MINI brought the famous trophy home.
Five-time Cup winner Sir Russell Coutts, the CEO of defending champions Oracle Team USA, and Dr. Grant Gibbons, Minister of Education and Economic Development, carried the trophy in our MINI Convertible as it made its way from the airport to the Cabinet Building in Hamilton, cheered on by flag-waving crowds.
The MINIs - with special AC 2017 plates and the official logo on the side - were on hand again in the evening as they carried the trophy and dignitaries to Front Street for a block party and firework display as Bermudians welcomed the Cup to its new home.
